Bryant Green
March 29, 1943 – June 1, 2024
Zepher Lee Bryant Green was born March 29, 1943 in Lafayette, Alabama to the late Deacon and Mrs. Eddie and Louise Bryant. She was the second of seven children. She attended Patterson Elementary School and graduated from A.H. Parker High School in January, 1961. She received her B.A. Degree from Alabama A&M University in 1965 and her Master's Degree from Alabama A&M University in 1969. She was a retired Birmingham City School System Special Education Teacher.
Zepher married James R. Green in 1965 and to this union they were blessed with four children. Tanya R. Green, James Green, Jr., Jamella R. Green, and Deana L. Green.
Zepher confessed Christ at an early age, joining First Baptist Church Woodlawn and was a member of the Youth and Young Adults Choir, the Young adults Usher Board, and the Young Matrons Board. Zepher was almost " A Perfectionist" because she wanted everything done decent and in order. One motto she lived by was " If you know better, you would do better."She was loving and helpful to all she encountered. She will be remembered for her warm and outgoing nature; giving quizzes and working on crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Mr. James R. Green, Sr.; two children who passed away in childbirth, Tanya R. Green and James Green, Jr.; and her eldest sister, Rev. Josie B. Golden.
Zepher is survived by her two daughters, Jamella R. Green and Deana Green Holloway(Dedrick); two grandsons, Micah (Hannah) and Fredrick; one son-in-law; two sisters, Nadine Porter, Birmingham, AL and Linda Love (James-deceased), Boston, MA; three brothers, Eddie L. Bryant, Jr., Arnold J. Bryant (Cynthia), and Josephus R. Bryant (Diane) all of Birmingham, AL; one sister-in-law Nora Green; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
