Yvonne Davis Walker was born October 23, 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late William H. Davis and Eva Carswell Davis. She was the youngest girl of four children. She received Christ and was baptized at First Memorial Baptist Church by Reverend Zonnie Stuckey, Sr. Yvonne grew as a social butterfly and loved to dance and learn.
Yvonne matriculated through Birmingham City Schools, and she was a graduate of Ramsay High School, Class of 1973. She attended Wallace State for medical administration. Her career advanced in the medical coding field. She was loved by many patients and colleagues.
Yvonne was a faithful employee of Cooper Green Hospital and Montclair Hospital for over twenty years. She was affectionately known as "Vonne" and she never met a stranger. Yvonne was always an impeccable dresser and the life of the party. She was a faithful, committed, and caring employee until she retired. In addition, she was a resilient fighter of health complications for many years.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Davis Green and her daughter, Deciar Shondra Jones.
Yvonne loved her family dearly and desired for them to be successful. They were truly her greatest inspirations in life. She leaves to cherish: her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Eugene Walker; brother, Ronald (Antrice) Davis; sister, Shelia Cunningham; daughter, Telkia (Henry) Jones, Regina (Jonathon) Walker Price, Terrell (Kenyata) Avery grandchildren, Kalik Jones, Henry Lee III, Treasure Lee, Tyler Jones, and Joni Denise Price, two brothers-in-law, George Walker and Henry Green; two sisters-in-law, Allice Lee and Melanie Walker; Best Friends, Renita Stuckey and Cynthia Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
