Mr. Willie Lester Murray, was born on June 28, 1944 to the late Reverend Earl Murray, Sr. and Roberta Murray. On January 29, 2015 at age 70, God called him home. He was a foot soldier in the sixties and grew up in Titusville, Alabama. He was a member of the Murray Gospel Singers. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of forty-three years, Bertha Murray; his five sons, Michael J. Murray, Lester D. Murray, Samuel J.Murray (Sonequa), Antwone L. Murray, and KeeMarcus J. Murray; five daughters, Leslie Covington, Latrina Williams (Willie), Jacquelyn Maxwell (McRoy, Jr.), LaKesha Murray and Lisa Murray; four brothers, James McIntyre, Earl Murray, Jr., Reverend Doctor Samuel J. Murray, Reverend Doctor Thomas Murray (Kim); one sister, Gloria Palmer (Ronnie); six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a host of in-laws, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family Hour will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel. His Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with burial Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
