Willie L.
Anderson Mcghee
January 7, 1953 – October 22, 2025
Mrs. Willie L. (Anderson) McGhee, affectionately known as "Bill," was born January 7, 1953 in Boligee, Alabama to the late Will and Rosa Anderson. As a child, she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and embraced his teachings throughout her life. She attended Hayes High School, Alverson Draughon Business College, and UAB.
One of her passions was sharing the word of God with others; often ministering to those in need. As a child, she was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church; here she met the love of life, Rufus, whom she affectionately calls "Ruf." She was blessed with two children; however, she adopted many through her work at Social Security Credit Union. She loved to help educate others with her spiritual and financial knowledge. She
continued to serve God as a member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
On May 31, 2025, she and Rufus, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
She loved the sight and flight of butterflies and on October 22, 2025, the Lord gave her wings and called her home to eternal rest.
She leaves behind loving and cherished memories for all who were blessed to have loved and known her. She is survived by her husband, Rufus L. McGhee, III; son, Julius, daughter, Ashley; beloved granddaughter, Ja' Cayla McGhee; brother-in-law Anthony (Terri) McGhee. Her loving sisters: Annie Montgomery, Ruthie (Derek) Carmichael, Dorothy Thomas, Gloria Anderson, and Ruby "Cathy" Anderson. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Here are my little handprints
For you to see today.
For like a little butterfly,
I like to run and play.
Someday just like a butterfly,
You'll have to sit me free.
I'll spread my wings and fly
Away,
My beauty the world will see!
