age 53, of Birmingham, Alabama departed this life to enter into her Heavenly home on Monday, March 21, 2016. The daughter of Virginia B. Edwards-Shepard and the late Roosevelt Washington, Sr.
Virginia, lovingly known as "Gail", worked in the Healthcare field as a licensed nurse over the span of fifteen years. Healthcare was her passion and she touched many lives everywhere she worked. She attended New Pilgrim Baptist Church in her earlier years of life and later attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church until her health prevented her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 4699 Cheek Road, with burial in Zion Memorial Gardens. Pastor Joseph W. Battle, officiating. Family Hour will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel.
