Victor Francis Spencer was born on November 4, 1951, to James and Mamie Jackson Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Spencer; mother, Mamie Jackson Spencer; grandfather, Willie Jackson; grandmothers, Dora Jackson and Luberta Stewart; and a beloved great-grandmother, Mamie Howard.

Victor attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School in Bessemer, Alabama, where he accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the church under Father Paschal. He graduated with honors from Holy Family School and attended Tuskegee University. He received his BS degree in psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

During his adult years, Victor was an active member of both Our Lady of Fatima and St. Mary's Catholic Churches. He worked as a nursing assistant at Spain Rehabilitation Center, an engineering assistant at Rust Engineering, a student recruiter at Virginia Junior College, and an instructor at Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School. He gave 23 years of service at Lawson State Community College. Victor was a proud intellect who was fun loving and content with what he had. He deeply cared about children and his family. He loved to cook, entertain, and he was very generous. He is dearly loved and will be missed by those who have known him.

He is survived by: a son, James Daniel Spencer II (April); daughter, Victoria Spencer; sister, Luberta Gordon; brother, Clinton Maurice
Spencer (Brenda); sister, Constance Spencer; brother, Daniel Spencer (Charlotte); two grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends.
