Sister Rost R. Edwards was born on June 10, 1943, to the union of the late George and Mary Rudolph. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ensley, AL. She later graduated from Western Olin High School and attended Alabama State
University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She later embarked on a career as an educator and librarian for over 30 years. She taught in Fayette County Schools System as well as Birmingham City Schools system from which she retired after 30 years in Education System.
After retirement, she worked as a Research Specialist at Miles College for 8 years. She was a devoted member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter.

She was an extremely loving and kind friend, protector, confidant, and very authentic person to her family, friends, and everyone that had the pleasure of spending significant time around her. She was united in holy matrimony in 1967 to Mr. Fred Douglas Edwards, and from this union
three children were born.

She transitioned from this life to her eternal home under Hospice Care on Monday, December 25, 2023. She was preceded in her homegoing by her son, Frederick Douglas Edwards. She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy: her husband of 57 years, Fred Edwards; two sons; Darryl King, Roderick Edwards (Jacqueline), and one daughter; Tanjalia Marable, eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other  relatives and friends.
