Shirley A
Williams
September 25, 1950 – May 19, 2023
A Time of Remembrance
Shirley A. Hill Williams was born on September 25, 1950, the first child of the late Milton E. and Lillie M. Hill in Birmingham, Alabama.
Shirley confessed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church under the late Reverend Moses Javis. She was educated in the Birmingham Public School System and graduated from Parker High School.
Shirley retired as a telephone operator with 35 years of service from AT&T. In her post-retirement profession, she was a private home care sitter, where she enjoyed caring for the elderly. Our Lord and Savior called Shirley home on May 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jerry Hill and Charles (Speedy) Hill, and husband of 49 years, Tommie L. Williams, Sr.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Monica (Justin) Washington and Tracey Williams; sons, Tommie L. (Candace) Williams, Toney Williams, and Stacey Williams; eight grandchildren, Johnathan, Jalen, Toney Jr., Bailee, Johnavon, Jordan, Ryan, and Aria; great-grands, Johnathan Jr. and Jae'vion; three sisters; Brenda (Clayton) Harris, Linda F. Hill, and Sandra (Melvin) Lauderdale; brothers, Milton E. Hill, Jr., Albert Hill, and Eddwynn (Kim) Hill; two special aunts, Margret Cade and Ann (James) Whitten; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
