“She-She” Peterson Mahand

Sheila Ray "She-She" Peterson Mahand, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on July 10, 2023.
Born on September 5, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the youngest child to Levi and Rosa Belle Peterson, Sr. Sheila confessed her love to Christ at an early age. After graduating from Holy Family High School, she continued her education at Alabama A&M University,
earning a bachelor's degree in accounting.
She met and married the late James Otis Mahand, and to that union, their beloved child, Thalmus Mahand was born. Sheila worked at Lawson State Community College as a Financial Aid Consultant, providing invaluable counseling and assistance to undergraduate students. She
retired 1999 after 26 years of employment, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and dedicated service. Sheila had a passion for gardening, and was a skilled horticulturist.
Sheila is survived by her son, Thalmus Mahand (Joi) of Birmingham, Alabama and her bonus daughter, Antonette Mahand of Birmingham, AL , as well as her grandchildren, Tiffany Mahand, Katy Mahand and Matthew Mahand. She is also survived by her siblings, Levi Peterson, Jr. of
Hopkinsville, KY, and Geraldine Peterson Weathers of Louisville, KY. Nieces and Nephews, Levi Peterson, III, Carmen Weathers Washington (Kevin), Herschel Peterson, Charmein Weathers, Camille Weathers Woods, and Charita Weathers. She leaves behind a wide network of family, friends, and loved ones.
