Shaquille was born on August 12, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois to LaTanya Staples and Edmen Griffin. He was the first grandchild born, so his entrance into the world was eagerly awaited. Shaquille was never one to wait around for anything to be handed to him. He always wanted be in the entertainment business. So, when he finished school he pursued his dream of becoming a rapper. Under the guidance of his Uncle Octavius, Shaq excelled in his Rap Career. He was known all over the State of Alabama and surrounding states by his rap name "Dezzy El'Chapo".
Shaquille left this life on March 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaTanya Staples; sister, Asia Poole, and two grandfathers, Robert Massie and Edward Keenan.
He leaves to forever keep his memory alive, two grandmothers, Denise Staples (Birmingham) and Patricia Griffin (Mississippi); two grandfathers, Dave Griffin (Mississippi) and Phil McGill (Birmingham); aunt, Octavia Staples; uncle, Octavius Staples (Chicago); a loving partner, Shamia Murray, with whom he shared two beautiful children, Prince Staples and Ny'Ora Murray; three sisters, Kira Rodriguez, Monique McKinney, and Endyia Stewart (Detroit).; two brothers, Romero Staples and Edmen Stewart. Along with his nieces and nephews, Ariya, Soheila, Markell, Aveah, Aveon, and E'leiah. He leaves a host of host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and long time friends who will miss him dearly.
