Scott Fitzgerald

Scott Fitzgerald Kelser
From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, his peaceful continence never changed. Scott Fitzgerald Kelser was born November 3, 1968 to the late Leon & Earnesteen Kelser. "Scottie, as he was affectionately known, born in 1968, a year heavy with heartbreak and hope. The nation was trembling—fighting, grieving, searching for its soul. It was the year America lost both Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, two voices of courage who dared to dream of unity, equality, and justice for all. Scottie entered the world as those dreams were shaken but not destroyed, born into a moment when the country's pain and its longing for change were more powerful than ever." Embracing the hope of his time, Scottie's entrance into the world was met with elation, exuberance and uncontainable pride by both parents and grandparents.
Scottie graduated from West Blocton High School in 1988; where he went on to attend Beville State College to achieve certification for coal mining. He served in the Army National Guard and worked at Mercedes Benz before delving into the mines. He worked at Oak Grove Coal Mine for nine years before his health began to decline.
Scottie united in marriage with Kimonique O'Shay James Kelser in 1992. He valued family above all. He went far and wide to provide a high quality life for his wife and children. His friends were also held in esteem. Scottie was well-known for his love of Auburn Football and he always had the absolute best Alabama/Auburn Iron Bowl parties. He loved to grill and spend quality time with his family and friends, especially his grandson Karter. For this reason we have chosen to celebrate his life on one of his most favorite days; the day of the Iron Bowl.
Scottie was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Earnesteen Kelser and his son Scott F Kelser Jr. However, he leaves cherishing his memories; his devoted and loving wife Kim Kelser; son, Keyshawn Kelser; daughter, Courtlyn Lamb; brother, Leonardis Kelser; brother, Damion Cole; sister, Rita (Derwin) Ward; special sister-in –love, Tina Walker; brother in law, Roy (Tameka) James; father in law, Roy(Carole) James; best friends, Nick & Michelle Smith and Leander Carmichael; his caregiver, Ann Lynch; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
