Sarah was born in Birmingham, AL to John Wesley and Lovie Lockhart.  Preceeded by her 2 sisters Georgia Jackson (Eddie) and Willie Bell Gardner (L.C).  Sarah dedicated her life to servicing and helping others, she was a lifetime caregiver and substituted mother to so many. She birthed 11 children; Freddie Lee Lockhart, Thomas Lockhart (Sharon), John Lockhart (Marie), Michael Lockhart, Minnie Lee Lockhart, Minnie Price Powell, Brenda Price, Robert Holcomb, Steven Holcomb (Anne), Wanda Holcomb, Raynard Holcomb ( Brenda).  Sarah also adopted 5 children; Charrah Price, Robert Holcomb, Kamiliah Carroll, Malik Holcomb and Kamora Carroll. She leaves behind a vast legacy of 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, friends and family.
