Sandra
Turner
May 27, 1955 – July 9, 2023
Mrs. Sandra "Faye" McBride-Turner was born to the late Fred Martin and Ester Everson on May 27, 1955. She attended Glen High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Faye was employed for over 25 years with the Birmingham Board of Education and retired in 2011.
Faye was united in holy matrimony to Lovell Turner on June 22, 2001. Faye confessed her love for Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Thomas, Alabama, and served faithfully as the church clerk until her death.
Faye's life would seem short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her warm and loving existence and the imprint left on our hearts exceeds the quantity of time that she stayed here. Not a day went by where Faye didn't talk about how much her children, grandchildren, and other family meant to her. Her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Leila Laney, Patricia Everson, Mary Martin, and Virginia Sims; brothers, Robert Lee Everson, Sr., Ned Everson, Jr., James Curtis Everson, Richard Everson, and Walter Everson; sisters-in-law, Clarice Everson, Willie Pearl Martin, and Gloria Everson; nephews, Xavier Laney, O'Varius Everson, Brandon Lewis, and Davon Everson; great-nephew, James Everson III; uncles, R.T. (Gloria) Stokes and Bunny (Selelia) Stokes; aunt, Ethel Sanders; and grandsons, Warn Derrius "Thumper "Twilley and Amari Conwell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Lovell Turner; two sons, Xavier (April) McBride of Huntsville, AL, and Eric Turner of Indiana; four daughters, Stephanie Conwell of Columbus, GA, LaSondra McBride of Birmingham, AL, Wyteria Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and Michelle Roberts of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Fred Martin of Selma, AL, and Robert (Anita) Everson of Birmingham, AL; three sisters, Wanda (Kevin) Larkins of Detroit, MI, Alice Hinton, and Johnnie Lee Martin of Birmingham, AL; one sister-in-law, Ora Mae Everson, and one brother-in-law, Robert Laney, both of Birmingham, AL; ten grandchildren, Fatima Turner, Tyra Conwell, Tevin Conwell, TeMario Smith, Phillandria Brown,
Taylor Hammons, J'omyah McTurner, Jacobi McBride, Amyah Ducksworth, and Ryan McBride; six great-grandchildren, Jayce and Jayden Smith, Maison Hammons, Tyree Harris, and Noah and London Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
