Obituary

Sadie Mae Ivery was born on March 30, 1940, to the late Johnny and Minnie Williams in Camden, Alabama. She was affectionately known as "Pig" by all who knew and loved her. She later moved to Birmingham, Alabama.

Sadie Mae professed Christ at an early age and joined Wright's Chapel where she worked faithfully with the Community Assistance Auxiliary and the Kitchen Committee for years until her health prevented her from continuing to serve. In later years, the name was changed to New Beginnings United Methodist Church.

She was educated at Parker High School in the Birmingham City School System and later, upon completion of her education, she worked for over 20 years with the children and families of Zion Heights Day Care serving as a classroom aide.

On December 9, 1962, she joined in holy matrimony with the Arthur Charles Ivery and to this union two children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Arthur C. Ivery, one son Charles (Tomika) and a daughter Brigitte, four grandchildren, Everette, Charlesa, Chelsea and Tumia; three great-grandchildren London, Zoe, and Reyann and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
