Renée Lynn Floyd Washington, age 63 of Forestdale, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1960, and was the youngest child of the late Walter B. and Mary Ellen Floyd. Renée was educated in the Birmingham Public School System, graduating from A.H. Parker High and attended Alabama A&M University. She was a lifelong member of First United Presbyterian Church Forestdale, formerly known as Miller Memorial Presbyterian Church.
From a young age, Renée proved to be outgoing and fun loving, and this was exemplified in her active participation with her family in Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
She had a deep love for children and dedicated many years of her life working in the Birmingham City School System. Renée served at N.H. Price, Hemphill, and Minor Elementary schools until her retirement.
Renée will be remembered for her genuine love of family, compassion for animals, her infectious humor, and immutable sense of style. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Renée was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald R. Washington.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dana Marie Floyd and Kristin Artemese Washington, and her son Ronzell B. Washington. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Kiara, Korey, Kristopher, and Legend, sisters Beverly Johnson of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Karen F. Savage (Dr.Harry) of Richmond, VA, brother Walter F. Floyd, as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors
