PHYLLIS JEAN KENNEBREW, born on September 25, 1952, was born to parents, Eleanor J. Summerville and Billy Bridges. She was the only child born to their union. Each of her parents re-married and had other spouses and children.

Phyllis was baptized at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. John T. Porter. Sixth Avenue Baptist Church was the place of worship she and her family had
attended since her birth. Phyllis was a faithful member and attended the church until she was unable to do so. She was educated in the Birmingham school system and graduated Ullman High School in the spring of 1970. After graduating, she married Alonzo Kennebrew. From their union was born their only child, Alonzo E. Kennebrew. For several years, she was a homemaker.

Later, Phyllis was employed with Birmingham Trust National Bank which became South Trust Bank, currently, Wells Fargo, from where she retired due to her declining
health after 34 years of service. She spent her latter years fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) as well as battling the debilitating illness. Never one to give up, Phyllis fought
the good fight until she was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, September 12, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, stepfather, Tom Simmons, Sr., and younger brother, Timothy W. Simmons.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her favorite son, Alonzo E. Kennebrew; granddaughter, Zoey A. Kennebrew; father, Billy Bridges;
brothers, Tom Simmons, Jr., Darryl Simmons, Billy Bridges, Jr., and Jay Bridges; loving sisters, Shirley A. Harris (Mose), Melody Simmons, Virginia E. Simmons, and Marlene
Bridges; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
