Mr. Oliver Wendell Larry of Birmingham, Alabama entered eternal glory on March 19, 2015.
Mr. Larry was an eccentric person who loved family, the outdoors, traveling, nature and embarking on new adventures. His passion in life was working on Theatre and film projects and bringing light to people through that art. He worked for Yale University Opera department. Mr. Larry has worked on various motion picture films such as Wanted, The Dark Knight, The Lucky Ones, Speed Grieving, Guyz and many more. He worked for Harpo Studios, Nickelodeon, Birmingham Children Treatre and Goodspeed Opera House. He has traveled to various places in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Larry touched many lives with his talents, his creativity, honesty, kindness, trivia, smiles and laughter. He fought for what was right, his beliefs, and stood up for the injustice.
Mr. Larry was born to Vera M. Larry and Ronald F. Larry in Birmingham, Alabama. His family is a member of the Cherokee Tribe of N.E. Alabama.
Mr. Larry confessed his life to Christ at an early age when he was baptized at Mount Mariah United Methodist Church. Mr. Larry grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Woodlawn Magnet High School. He attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a member of the Alabama State University Marching Hornets.
His memories and love will always be expressed by his children: Sierra O. Larry, Leo W. Larry, Zachary Larry-Baldwin and Eden Palmer; his sister, Auvergene J. Larry; brother, Artishia A. Larry; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James United Methodist Church, 2604 Hagood Street, Irondale, AL 35210 with interment in Forest Crest Cemetery. Family Hour will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel, 102 - 6th Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211.
