Norris Robinson, at age 83, of Birmingham, went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2022. Norris was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was the son of the late Richard Robinson and Anna Gusta Parker Robinson. He was preceded in death by his loving sister Connie Mae Robinson Moore and brother Donald Robinson. Upon graduating Western Olin High School, Norris attended Miles College. After his sophomore year, he served in the United States Army. He later returned to Miles College where he earned a bachelor's degree. At Miles, Norris played football and later was proudly inducted into the Miles College Sports Hall of Fame. He was initiated into the Delta Tau Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and became an active member of the Birmingham Alumni Chapter. He was a Life Member. Norris taught Math at Pell City High School for one year followed by a 40 year career with the US Postal Service until retirement. He was a devoted servant of God and faithful member of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and was a dedicated member of the Evelyn S. Hardy Men of Distinction. Norris loved his God and family with his whole heart. He is survived by his lovely wife Ruby Regina Williams Robinson, daughters Dr. Joi Robinson Tidmore (Lawrence) and Dr. Mia Robinson White (Herbert), grandchildren Khari Tidmore, Noah Tidmore and Savannah Tidmore, cousin Dr. Leslie Parker Barnes (Ted), sister-in-law, Lily Robinson, brother-in-law Dr. Roderick Williams (Cheryl) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held at Smith and Gaston Funeral Home on Thursday March 24, from 12:00-5:00 pm Followed immediately by the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Memorial from 5:00-5:45 pm Celebration of life will be held on Friday March 25, at 11:00 am at Sixth Ave Baptist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
