Lillie Pearle (Evans) Walker was the first child born to William Pittman Evans and Bertha (Jones) Evans
on January 25, 1920, in Pleasant Hill, Alabama, near Selma. She was educated in the Good Hope School
System in Sardis, Dallas County. She joined the Good Hope Baptist Church in Sardis, Alabama, at a
young age where she served faithfully until moving to Birmingham, Alabama, in the late 1920s.

Mrs. Walker started working at a young age to help support her family. She worked for several families,
providing domestic help and childcare. Mrs. Walker joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in North
Birmingham and served faithfully in several church ministries, including the Nurses' Guild, Sunday
School, and Culinary Ministry. She later met and united in holy matrimony with Mr. Dennis Walker.
They shared love and unity that spanned many years. She helped her husband raise his four grandsons,
Milton, Larry, Lonnie, and Christopher, before his passing in 1990.

She was a gentle, nurturing woman known for her culinary skills, especially the cakes and cornbread
dressing she made. Her home was a haven for many. She loved family and would take her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren to Selma, Alabama, to stay with her sisters in the country.

brothers, Steve Evans and Frank Evans; a very special cousin, Mary Butler; nephew, Frank James Hardy;

great-granddaughter, Tanya Renee Moore; great-grandson Adidas Mykale Hrabowski; and great-great-

grandchildren; one sister, Mary Evans of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins across

the country spanning six generations. She was affectionally known as "Aunt Pearle."

Mrs. Walker was also a special member of the Tommy and Betty Watkins family, where she was employed
for almost seven decades. Additionally, she helped take care of five children, Mark, Steve, Johnny, Danny
Watkins, and Jane Watkins Sharp, who all loved her deeply.
