Minister Ronald
Eric Reese
November 1, 1950 – January 23, 2024
Minister Ronald Eric Reese was the second child of six born to the late Willie and Blanche Reese on November 1, 1950.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior, and was baptized at Old Sardis Baptist Church during revival on July 20, 1962, under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Robert L. Alford. He was active in the Youth Department. Minister Reese was educated in the Birmingham City School system. He was a graduate of Carrie A. Tuggle Elementary School and was a drummer in the band. Additionally, he was a graduate
of A.H. Parker High School and Wenonah Trade School. Minister Reese served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge.
Three sons were born through the union of a marriage, ending in divorce. In a later relationship, a daughter was born. He was employed with several industries as a welder. Additionally, he was a self-employed courier until he retired on disability. Minister Reese became a born-again Christian, and accepted the call to the ministry at Homewood Church of God. He matriculated at Southeastern Bible College, where he majored in Bible and Theology with a minor in Biblical Studies, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree on May 10, 2013.
He ministered speaking God's Word and playing music. He was a drummer, and occasional guitarist and keyboardist at Church. His main focuses were Outreach and Prison Ministries. He touched the lives of many. Minister Ronald E. Reese is survived by three sons, Ronald (Cherinita) Reese of Hoover, AL, Eric (Stephanie) Reese of McCalla, AL and Darron (Nieya) Reese of Huntsville, AL; one daughter, Brianna Reese of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Nia Mya, Ronald Michael, Ankrista, Daria, Jailyn, Eric Reese II, Tavian David, Samiya Nikol, Paisley, Cali, Braylon and Demi; one sister, Patricia Reese Singer of Birmingham, AL; four brothers, William Reese of Hoover, AL, Elder Kenneth (Marie) Reese of Forestdale, AL, Minister Gregory (Mercy) Reese of Jacksonville, FL and Sam Reese of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
