Obituary

Mr. McDaniel Watson, Jr. was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 9, 1963. He was the only son of Cellie and the late McDaniel Watson, Sr. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and united with Jeffries Memorial Christian Church. He lived a life seeking a closer walk with God and sharing His Knowledge and love with others. He was a hard worker and very dedicated to his family. McDaniel received his elementary and high school education in the Birmingham School System. At Jones Valley High School, he was a member of the marching band and played the saxophone. In his senior year, McDaniel was the "Drum Major" of the Jones Valley High School Marching Band. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he served for twenty years as a Corpsman and Reservist. He was an aviation mechanic and worked with Boeing, Pemco and other jobs that took him all over the world, including Australia, Italy and Japan. Family Hour will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Jeffries Memorial Christian Church with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. McDaniel leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Tracy; two sons, Tahj and Tristyn; one daughter, Trinity; his mother, Cellie Watson, all of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Lee Spears of Medford, Oregon and Christopher Spears of Elmore, AL; one sister, Rose Marie Burk of Queens, NY; one aunt, Ella Mae Smith of Leohatchee, AL; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, other relative and friends.
