Mattie Gideon McKayle, who lived in Marietta GA, transitioned from this life September 30, 2015 after a long illness. Mattie was born October 15, 1935 to the late Ellen Hardaway Gideon and William Gideon. She was raised in childhood by the late Elena Hardaway Miller and Joseph Miller. She was educated in the Birmingham, AL public school system, graduating from Ullman High School. She attended Booker T. Washington Business College, Birmingham College of Commerce Business Management, Holy Family Medical Records Science, and Alabama A&M University.
Mattie moved to New York City to continue her education and profession. She was Director of Medical Records for Baptist Medical Centers of New York which included three hospitals for many years. Mattie also owned and operated the Total Woman Specialty Boutique in Westbury, NY. She later moved to Marietta, GA where she spent her retiring years entertaining friends and relatives.
Left to cherish precious memories of Mattie are: brother Maxie Miller Sr., sister-in-law Thelma Miller, sister-in-law Velma Miller, brother-in-law Paul Banks, nephew James Gideon, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Green Liberty Baptist Church - 121 - 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL, 35205.
