Mattie Gosa

Mattie Gosa was born on May 12, 1941, to Rosie Bell Burton. She was one of four daughters and two sons.

At an early age, she obeyed the gospel and confessed her belief in Christ. She was a faithful member of the Oak Ridge Church of Christ and Roosevelt City Church of Christ.

Mattie devoted her life to her family and her faith. She was a quiet and gentle soul. She loved children and people. She took delight in taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included watching soap operas, people watching, and taking care of her home. She loved going to church. She was a jokester and had a kind and generous spirit.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late William Gosa, and God blessed their union with three daughters and four sons. Mattie had a beautiful smile, and it will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mattie departed this life on April 29, 2026, and leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Mary Gosa, Patricia Gosa, and Debra Gosa-Talley (David); four sons, Willie Gosa, Neopia Gosa, Lawrence Gosa, and David Gosa; two sisters, Annie Mae Burton and Catherine Ishmael; seven grandchildren, Telisha Ayres (Shawn), Natasha Camp (Daniel), David Talley IV, Nicole Fuller (Rick), Raymond, Jr., Eddie Talley (Adrianne), and Emmanuel Talley (Dakiysha); eight great-grandchildren, Deondra Perry, Andre Camp, Danielle Camp, Shawn Ayres, Derrica Perry, Jazlyn Ayres, Earthony Fuller, and Tyntell Fuller; two great-great-grandchildren, TyMico Thomas and Jasekia Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and many loving friends.
