Dr. Marjorie H. Lawson, former Dean of Students at Lawson State Community College, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at age 91. Dr. Lawson was a faithful member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church where she served in many capacities. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Sorority and the Semper Fidelis Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. T. A. Lawson. She leaves to carry on her legacy: one son, Theodore II (Yolanda) Lawson; stepdaughter, Michelle Harris (Frank); sister, Lois Knox; seven grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Noon at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Smith & Gaston Southside directing.
