Marie Ryan Pickett was born September 25, 1943 in Birmingham, AL to the late Ulysses and Gladys Ryan, at an early age she accepted Christ, she maintained a steadfast and unwavering faith with God throughout her life. She was a graduate of Ullman High School and Booker T. Washington Business College. Marie was a dedicated longtime employee of Gaston Enterprises. Hired by the late Dr. A.G. Gaston Sr. to work at the A.G. Gaston Motel where she learned her accounting skills. Years later she would move over to WENN Radio where she had many roles. One of the many accomplishments that she was most proud of was the starting of the WENN High School Advisory Board which she enjoyed to the fullest. Marie worked for Gaston Enterprise for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by bothers; Tommy Lee, Ulysses Jr., Richard Sr., and Walter Sr.; sisters Gladys, Henrietta, Ella Mae, and Helen. Nephews Jamall (Booney), Richard Jr. and niece Rhaquel.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, a Legacy of love from her daughter Gladys Pickett-Henry, Son-in-Love Erza Bradford Henry III.
