Mr. Malcolm Lowell Jones was born on April 13, 1955 in Brookside, Alabama. He passed away peacefully at the age of 71.
He was a graduate of Gardendale High School Class of 1973. He earned his certification in mechanics and began working at Western Auto, continuing on to work for Coca Cola Bottling Company as a mechanic, and from there to the Mulga Mine. Upon its closure, he then became a lifelong member of Labor Local 559. Beyond his accomplishments, he was an avid fisherman who loved the water. Affectionately known to many as “Bo”, he also found joy in gardening, working with his hands, was a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with this family.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Goshay, father, Adolphus Jones, Sr., brother, Adolphus Jones, Jr., sister, Janice R. Peoples, and brother, Alphonse Jones.
Forever holding him close in their hearts, his wife of 46 years, Jo Ann Jones; four daughters, Joylynne Treia Jones, Venisha Coleman, Maralyn (Matthew) Jackson, and Latricia Michelle Jones; five grandchildren, Bridgette Simone Davis, David Coleman, III, Ethan Michael Guinn, Brittany Renee Coleman, and Emory Mason Jackson; two great grandchildren, Loki Johnson and Nevaeh Johnson; two special people, Dryxell Johnson and Tristan Charles Banks; three sisters, Uawanna J. Day, Demetrice Poole, and Alesia (James) Reeves; four brothers, Gregory (Rhonda) Jones, Edgar Jones, and Cedric Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives
