Mrs. Macklin S. Gray, of Birmingham, went home to be with Jesus on July 7, 2014 at the age of 78. At an early age she confessed her love to Christ at the Greater Temple Baptist Church, Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Kalep and Mrs. Ella H. Wilson and six of her loving sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Woods, Mrs. Ella H. Becton, Mrs. Lydia O. Jones, Ms. Billie J. Wilson, Ms. Esther L. Steele and Mrs. Leola A. Cook. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: a devoted husband, Theodore Gray, Sr.; children, George, Jr. (Tonia) Smith, Pamela (William) Gilbert, Evangeline (Anthony) Hunter, Derek Smith, Cheryl (Donald) Cunningham, Valencia (Ruel) Johnson, Jessica (Phillip) Williams, Bernadette Smith Love, Annastacia (JD) Hardy and Tony (Kimberly) Gray; her sisters, Carrie (Rhoul) Hansen and Brendalyn (Calvin) Kennedy; brothers, Kalep L. Wilson, Jr. and Ahmad (Aida) Rashid; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Kurt Clark, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Smith & Gaston Southside directing.
