Mrs. Loretta E. Gordon, age 85, of Birmingham, Alabama died Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was a member of Unity Lutheran Church (formerly Pilgrim Lutheran Church). She was a retired school teacher for Birmingham Board of Education, having taught at Ullman and Ramsay High Schools, a graduate of Spelman College and the University of Nebraska in Omaha. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Church with Rev. Perry McCullum officiating and burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors include daughter Iris R. Gordon; son Hollis W. Gordon, Jr. (Karen); daughter Kim G. Moore (James); two grandchildren, Brenlie A. and Hollis W. Gordon, III. Smith & Gaston Southside directing.
