Mrs. Lola Mauldin Reevers-Tubbs, born December 11, 1923, passed away on January 2, 2015 in Nashville, TN, where she had resided with her daughter for the last four years before her declining years began. Her final days and hours were spent surrounded by her children. She grew up in Thomaston, AL and attended the County Schools there, graduating form Marengo County Training School. She subsequently married Benjamin Reevers, Jr., II, and together they bore four children: Meredith, Rochelle, Joyce (deceased), and Gazetta.
She worked for the Jefferson County Health Department as a home-care nurse for seventeen years. On Monday, January 5, 2015, flag flew at half-mast at the Health Department. She lived in Birmingham and attended Ephesus SDA Church where she served faithfully as director of youth activities for several years, bible worker, and church musician. She was also a member of the illustrious Alexis Club, Dorcas Society, and many others.
She was an amazing "Woman of God," having raised four God-fearing children who love the Lord - her greatest trophy. She will be greatly missed by both of her church families - Ephesus and Riverside SDA Churches.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Ephesus SDA Church. The Family Hour will precede the services from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Furman Fordham of Riverside SDA Church of Nashville, TN officiating.
