Obituary

Mrs. Lois Ogletree, a beloved servant of God and pillar of her community, was born on September 07, 1924. She peacefully transitioned from this life on March 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.

At an early age, Mrs. Ogletree confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Fourth Avenue Baptist Church in 1935. Her life was a true reflection of her unwavering devotion to God and her church. She served faithfully in numerous capacities, including the Matrons Ministry, Senior Mission, Number One Ushers, and as a dedicated Sunday School Teacher for both the Young Adult and Senior classes. Her commitment to ministry was marked by diligence, joy, faithfulness, and consistency—especially in her generous financial support to the work of the Lord.

Professionally, Mrs. Ogletree served as a Supervisor at a local nursing home facility, where she exemplified compassion, leadership, and care for others. She touched many lives through her work and her nurturing spirit.

In her leisure time, she found great joy in reading her Bible, solving crossword puzzles, and collecting dolls—simple pleasures that reflected her peaceful and thoughtful nature.

Mrs. Ogletree lived a life grounded in the Word of God, as reflected in her favorite scriptures:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." – Psalm 23:1
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving family, devoted church family, and a host of dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of faith, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
