Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel with burial at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
A Little of My Story
Leon Barlow made his debut on August 20, 1966 inside his mother arms in Tuskegee, Alabama.
Leon was at 1984 graduate of Phillips High School. Upon graduation Leon later joined the United States Navy where he faithfully served until his honorable discharge. He was formerly employed with many Financial Institutions inside the Birmingham area.
Leon lived life just the way he wanted it to be. Playing with his granddaughter and teaching her life lessons. He spent time on the phone with his nephew and friends breaking down the football games and being a coach on the side. He was an AVID RAIDERS FAN .
Leon met and dated Olivia Varner in 2001 and not only did he fall in love with her smile and personality. He also fell in love with her name "Olivia" because that happens to be one of his sister's name. On August 2, 2003 they were united together in marriage for 16 years.
God called Leon home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
Although this was unexpected to us. His life was completed in God's eyes. So, as he enter the gates of heaven. He will not be alone. His mother will be there waiting; Rosie Harris, Stepfather, Eddie Harris and Frank Moss "Uncle Bubble".
Gathered to comfort each other in grief his wife Olivia Barlow; two stepchildren, Brandon and Jasmine Varner, the love of his life granddaughter; Tamiyah Brown, one brother; Harry Barlow (Cynthia), six sisters; Mary Brooks (Johnny), Gloria Key, Annie Brooks (Lewis), Cora Barlow, Dorothy Pruitt (Renard), Olivia Todd (Adarrell), one special nephew; Harry Barlow Jr., God daughter Alexandria Morgan, best friend; Jonathan Moore a host of family members and friends.
