Mrs. Leila Nolan Conner, age 87, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born to Dock and Sarah Nolan, May 9, 1927 in Newbern, Alabama, Hale County. She was a retired nurse of thirty years at Lloyd Noland Hospital and served several years as educational assistant in Birmingham.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at Noon at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, Reverend Marvin R. Conner, eulogist. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Remains will lie in state at the church from 10:30 A.M. until noon prior to the service.
Mrs. Conner is survived by her loving son, Reverend Marvin R. Conner of Birmingham,
Alabama; two grandsons, Lt. Commander Robert Brian Conner (Ann) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Edmund Conner of Birmingham, Alabama; two great grandchildren, Anthony Robert Conner and Andersen Elle Conner; three siblings, Paul Nolan (Sue), Bertha Washington (Willie) and Ruby Nolan, all of Detroit, Michigan; the church family and a host of loving relatives and friends.
