Lawrence Williams
Jr.

Lawrence Williams Jr was born April 22, 1933, in Wilcox County (Arlington, AL). He was the son of the late Lawrence
Williams Sr. and Alice Hunter. He departed this life for his heavenly reward on June 29, 2022.
Lawrence was raised with four siblings; three preceded him in death: James, Roosevelt, and Magaline. Lawrence was blessed with the privilege of sharing his life balance with his oldest sister, Mary Gaston. He graduated from Rosebud Literary and Industrial School in Wilcox, Co. He served in World War II as a soldier in the United States Army. After completing his service duty and receiving an honorable discharge, he exchanged wedding vows with Minnie Pearl Garner (deceased). To this union, two boys were born, Ray Charles Williams Sr. and Roderick (Dianna Lynn) Williams.
Lawrence accepted Christ as his saver early by joining Good Hope Presbyterian Church in Arlington, AL. He changed membership to First United Presbyterian Church in Forestdale, AL, formerly known as Miller Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he served actively on the board of trustees and was a devoted choir member.
Lawrence retired from various employers: Atlantic and Pacific (A&P), Bowman, and Brunos. Finally, his love for landscaping led him to work at Sears in Roebuck Service Center for several years. He was later married to Alice Marie Williams for 25 years. This marriage bought him two additional children. Who are Jerald Wilson Jr. and Jerri (Mark) Drayton. Many describe him as loving, respectful, charismatic, devoted, and committed to his family.
Lawrence leaves to cherish his precious memories grandchildren Antonio Eason(deceased), Shannon (Walter) Williams, Raeshonda Williams, Ray Charles Jr. Williams, Jessica (Lawrence) Thomas, LaQuetta Cooper, Dyelon Wilson, S'iare Wilson, Wilson, Eric Effinger, Jerrica Effinger. Great-Grandchildren Nyla Williams, Noah Williams, Neriah Williams, Bailey Ray Moore, Abra Rae Williams, Jordan Thomas (deceased), Lenox Thomas, Jaxson Thomas, Nasir Rowell, LeSean Fitts Jr.
