Joseph Blackmon "Joe" was born on June 19, 1938 to the late
Mr. Fred and Mrs. Lena Mae Blackmon Haynes in Birmingham,
Al.

He confesses hope in Christ at an early age.
He was educated in the Birmingham City school system. He was
a valued employee of Cocoa Cola for nearly half of his lifetime,
which he found very enjoyable.
On Sunday August 20, 2023, Joseph entered his eternal life. He
will proceed in death by his parents Mr. Fred and Lena Hayes.
His loving brother Keith Willard Hayes. His daughter, Susie
Blackmon, his son, Joseph Harris; and a host of aunts and
uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memories; one daughter, Valeria Hill
(Talladega, Al); four Grandchildren, Valeria Hill (Talladega, Al),
Robert Hill (Talladega, Al), Earlesha Blackmon (Birmingham, Al)
Brenisha Blackmon (Birmingham, Al); One Nephew Keith Hayes
(Cleveland, Ohio); one niece Terita King (Kowaski) (Birmingham,
Al); five great grandchildren and a host of other family
members and friends.

Joe was a very popular man within his community. His doors
always remained open with love for his neighbors and friends.
Many grew to know him as pops because of his big loving heart.
He loved to have a great time. He had a love for music and dancing. During much of his spare time, he would cook and
bake. He will be missed by so many people.
