Joseph "Penny" Anchrum, a devoted husband, father, and uncle departed this life peacefully to the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 23, 1937, to his late mother, Blanche, and late father, Joseph Anchrum. Joseph was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

He leaves to cherish: his loving wife, Wilhelmenia; and a daughter, nephews, and nieces.

Joseph received his education from the Birmingham public school system. Joseph worked in the steel industry at Connor Steel, the Birmingham Housing Authority, and Hayes Aircraft, also known as PEMCO.

Joseph's favorite pastime was baseball.
