Obituary

Johnnie Mae was born on November 5, 1946, to Willie and
Autrey Jones in Adamsville, AL. Upon moving to Birmingham,
AL, she attended the public schools, Lincoln Elementary and
A.H. Parker High School.

She received Christ at an early age and joined Beulah
Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized by
Reverend J.H. Banks. Johnnie Mae joined and sang in the
choir for a long time.

As an adult, she became the mother of three beautiful children,
Arthur, Rodney, and Debra. She moved to Rochester, NY, for
a short period and was employed with the Rochester school
system. After returning to Birmingham, AL, she attended
Jefferson State Community College and Southern Jr. College
of Business where she received an associate's degree from both
schools. She obtained employment with the Birmingham
Housing Authority and retired after 30 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three loving and devoted
children, Arthur Jones, Rodney Jones, and Debra Jones;
six grandchildren, Roderick, Johnecia, LeAndre, Darius,
Tarajiah, and Kevin; and a host of great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
