Deacon Jessie Booker Sr. the son of the late West & Madie Booker, was born in Conecoh County, Alabama on November 13, 1923. He was the oldest of 13 children at an early age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the House of God Church where he served faithfully until he was drafted into the military.

He was a product of the Conecoh County school system. After his stint in the military he moved to Birmingham, married and joined Stewart Chapel CME Church. He and sister Ora Lee later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church where Rev. Anthony Nabors is the pastor.

He served on the Deacon Board. Deacon Booker was a retired Veteran with 40 years of service. He  leaves to cherish his memories 1 daughter, 2 sons , 10 grand children, 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 3 brothers, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
