Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Savage will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Smith and Gaston South Side Chapel and interment will be Elmwood Cemetery

Jesse was born to the late James Savage, Sr., and Fannie Mae Barnett Savage on August 23, 1943. He grew up a member of Zion Springs Baptist  Church in Avondale.  Jesse  graduated  from Moton High School in Leeds, Alabama. He served  in  the  United  States  Army  after graduation.  After  his  tour of duty, he went to work at Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon returning to Birmingham,he was employed by Stockham Valves and Fittings until they closed.He then wen ton to work at Royal Cup Coffee. Jesse loved fishing and was always laughing and cracking jokes!
His earthy journey was completed on Saturday, November 24 ,2018,at the VA Hospital. Preceding Jesse's death are his parents: Reverend James Savage,Sr.; and Fannie Mae Barnett Savage; son,Aaron Savage; and siblings, James,Jr., Sylvester, and Harriet Savage.
Those left to cherish his memories are:his children,daughter, Rolanda (Clint)Usher;son Jerome (NaTasha) Savage;grandchildren, Trevon, Josaline, and Tyler Savage; devoted, loving friend, Paula Osby; brothers John, Aaron, Larry (Kamara), Johnny,and Frederick(Vanessa) Savage,and Willie Williams; sisters,Maxine Collins,and Aleine, Brenda. and Linda Savage daughter-in-law,Barbara Savage; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.
