age 73, of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016. Visitation service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel, 102 - 6th Avenue S.W. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 600 Center Street North, Birmingham, Alabama 35204. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors include: wife, Sandra Wills Scales; daughter, Lia Scales Prince (Artie); two sons, Jerome C. Scales, III and Marc D. Scales; two grandchildren, Karena and Gabriel Prince; seven sisters; two brothers; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
