Rev. James S. Saxton a faithful servant of God passed away January 19, 2021. He was a member of Thirgood Memorial CME Church and retired pastor from the Fifth Christian Methodist Episcopal District. He also was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine N. Saxton. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl (Dwight) Bowie Sr., Sedetra (Melvin) Walker; brother Mayo (Darlene) Saxton, Columbus, OH; sister Alice Ealey, Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Elmwood Cemetery. Smith & Gaston Southside Directing.
