Early Life and Faith Journey
Isabella Marie Glass Moore was born on September 1, 1920, in Marengo County, Alabama, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Titus Glass. At the age of 11, she confessed Christ and began her lifelong journey of faith.
Church Affiliation and Dedication
She united with Mount Hebrew Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C.C. Kennedy. After moving to Birmingham, Alabama, she continued her Christian walk by joining Zion Hills Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Garrett. Later, after relocating to Powderly, she became a faithful member of West End Hills Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W.J. Jackson until his death. She served under the current pastor Reverend Dennis L. Brown who remains the leader of the West End Hills Missionary Baptist Church, until her death.
Faithful Service
Isabella Marie was a devoted servant of the Lord. She served as a Sunday School teacher, secretary of the Missionary Society, and secretary of the Number Two Usher Board. She remained committed and faithful in her service until her health began to decline.
Education
She received her education from Thomas Normal School and furthered her studies at Industrial University Institute in Selma, Alabama. She also completed two years of study at Birmingham Bible College.
Family and Legacy
Isabella Marie was a loving and devoted mother. She leaves to cherish her precious memories six beloved children: Jimmie Moore Jr., Diana Cobb, Adolph Moore, Twynette Thomas, Lorraine Moore Williams, and Cora Cooks (son-in-law -Thomas Cooks); a step-daughter – Rosalind Ridgel; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Final Tribute
The earth has lost a precious jewel, but God has gained a beautiful angel.
