1 Corinthians 15:51 KJV. Sister Ida Mae Tatum was the first daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Coar Sr. in Birmingham, AL.
She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized under the pastorage of Rev. J.H. Glover. She was in many auxiliaries in the church. Junior Usher Board, Junior Choir, Secretary of the Missionary Society, Christian Benevolent Society, and President of the Teachers Staff.
She attended Ensley Jr. High School later name Sherman Heights Elementary School. She also attended Westfield High School and Jackson Olin High Vocational School.
She was married to the late Jesse Tatum and to the union a son was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, Earnest Coar, Jr., Eugene Coar, Charles Coar, Geraldine Coar, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Edward Lewis, and Roosevelt Coar, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Courtney(Lisa) Tatum of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Tatum, London, England and Christian Tatum, Salt Lake City, Utah; two sister in laws, Barbara Coar and Elnora Lewis Williams; seventeen nieces, Kimberley, Jaime, Marissa, Roslyn Coar, Douglasville, Ga., Monte Williams, Robin Alston, Rena Barrow, Savannah, GA., Nicolette Mosley, Jackie Davis, Cleveland, Ohio, LeJoy Butler, Tina Manuel, and Sherrie Hosey, all of Bakersfiled, CA.; six nephews, Michael Coar, Seattle, WA, Duane, Roosevelt, Brian, Christopher Coar, all of Birmingham, AL. and Vance Coar, Bakersfield, CA., Joe Davis, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio; bestfriend, Dorothy Wells; and a host of great nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
