Obituary

Harriet Angenette Caldwell was born on August 17, 1956 to Rosa Hill and Clarence Rice Sr. in Birmingham, Alabama. On December 15th, 2023, Harriet exchanged time with eternity.


Harriet was an amiable and spirited child. She graduated from Phillips High School and went on to attend Clark College Atlanta, Georgia and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 1976, Harriet made the life changing decision to serve her country in the United States Army, in which
she was stationed in Germany for two years.


Harriet dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, She was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and then later joined 25th Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dorosco Scarber. Harriet enjoyed life to the fullest and was well known to many. She also took on many
roles such as being a stewardess for People's Airlines.


She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Alfred Jermaine Pitts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Brian Nance of Birmingham, Alabama; one daughter, Anleia Nance, of Birmingham, Alabama; mother, Rosa Hill of Birmingham, Alabama; three brothers, Mandel Hill (Loretta), and Clarence Rice Jr. (Glennis), both of Birmingham, Alabama, and Michaell Hill of Louisville, Kentucky; four sisters, Patricia Washington, Bridgette Jordan (Rodney), Lakecia Lowery, and Latecia Brewer (Byron) of Birmingham. Alabama; two grandchildren, Kaden Key and Aryana Craft of Jacksonville, Florida; an uncle, Minnie Caldwell of Birmingham, Alabama; an aunt, Barbara Caldwell of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and classmates.
