Ms. Gloria M. Coleman passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 58 years old. Born on December 31, 1967 in Jefferson County, Alabama, to the late Barbara Jean Muse and Willie James Muse, Sr. Gloria confessed to Christ at an early age and joined in baptism at the St. John Baptist Church in Edgewater, AL., under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Jonathan McPherson, Sr. Gloria later joined First Baptist Church Gary-Ensley under the pastorate of the late Rev. C.E. Sims, and then, under the pastorate of Rev. Edwin Burts, Sr., where she was a faithful member until the end of life.

Gloria grew up in the Town of Edgewater, AL., where she attended Edgewater Junior High School and later, she became a 1986 graduate of Minor High School. Gloria received her Bachelor of Science in Business degree from the University of Phoenix and her Master of Business Administration in Accounting degree from Herzing University.

Gloria was a dedicated Administrative Assistant for Alabama Power Company of Birmingham, and also a Security Depatcher for Children’s of Alabama.

Gloria loved spending time with her family over a good card game. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her son, whom she fondly referred to as Boobie and her grandson, Aziel.

Gloria also enjoyed traveling with her sisters and 1st cousin, Darlene, whom she called her “ride or die chic.” Gloria was the life of the party, who touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and colleagues/co-workers.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Willie “Big Daddy” James Muse, Sr., and Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Muse; her grandparents, Lathan and Mary “Maggie” Jemison; three uncles, four aunts (Most recent, her Mother’s identical twin, Betty J. Gardner Jackson), two cousins, Tyrone (Tangula) Foy and Da’Marshae G. Kendrick.

Survivors include her devoted and beloved son, Jerry Coleman, Jr., and fondly remembered by her grandson, Aziel L. Coleman, both of Fairfield, AL; a beloved brother, Willie (Sherisse) James Muse, Jr., of Cleveland, OH., two sisters, Beverly Edwards and Rosalyn Muse, both of Birmingham, AL., an esteemed Sister/Cousin, Darlene S. Knox, of Bessemer, AL., and her best friend, Dr. Luvenia Bender, of Alabaster, AL. Gloria is also fondly remembered by her beloved nephew, Calvin “CJ” Burns, of Birmingham, AL., her dearest niece, Tameshea “Meek” Muse, of Detroit, MI., and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
