Mr. Glenn Todd, age 66, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 after a long illness. Glenn was an observant Seventh-day Adventist and a man of faith. He was a dedicated and loving father, a talented and multi-instrumental musician, a gifted writer, a quiet crusader for social justice during his decades at the E.E.O.C., and a seeker of knowledge. Born July 8, 1949 to Edward and Juanita Todd, he grew up in the Smithfield neighborhood, graduated from Parker High School, and the University of Arizona, and did his post-graduate work at Alabama A&M University. Glenn returned to Birmingham after his education to raise a family with Donna Edwards-Todd. He is survived by his children, Houston and Dhana; his grandson, Archer; his sister, Angela Howard; and nephew, Todd Howard. In addition to his musical talents, he will be remembered for his kind words, relaxed demeanor, and quick wit. He will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org). Services will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at noon at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel (102 - 6th Avenue S.W.) with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Smith & Gaston Southside directing.
