Gaylyne Duran Lewis was born July 28, 1980 in Birmingham, Alabama to Beverly Lewis. He attended Jefferson County School System. He graduated from Minor High School in 1999.

He earned a certificate in welding. He worked several jobs in Birmingham, but his last employment was with Kamtek.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Beverly Lewis; step son, Jordan Groom; special friend, Tegan Smothers; uncle, Freddie (Catherine) Lewis; aunts, Inez Tolbert, Bertha Maxwell, Glenda Lewis, Francine Lewis, and Mae Steward; special friend, Kelvin Steele; and a host of cousins, friends, and coworkers.
