Ms. Franquita Cunningham Austin, age 49, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 7:40 P.M. on the palliative care unit at UAB Hospital. She was born April 7, 1965 to Gloria and Frank Cunningham, III in Birmingham, Alabama. Her father is now deceased.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Gloria Hall Grant and stepfather, Gerald D. Grant; devoted children, son, Mario C. Austin (Kaketra), daughter, Astria Maria Austin and son, Neiko Tyrone Austin, both of San Diego, CA; sister, Geralyn Nicole Sigler (Jenero).
The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
Special THANKS to NICU and the palliative care unit at UAB. Thanks for the loving care, support and skillful way that you guided us through these difficult times. For this we are truly grateful.
