Floyd Edward Wright, Jr

Floyd Edward Wright Jr. 50 of Selma, Alabama, passed away peacefully on [May 1, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on March 26, 1976 in Birmingham, Alabama Floyd was the beloved child of Loretta Morris and Floyd Wright Sr. Throughout life, he was known for his kindness and bright personality.

Floyd graduated from Jackson Olin High School in 1994. He attended Lawson State Community College. He worked as a Security guard at Buford Security Agency for 3 years. He enjoyed sports and music. Family and friends will remember him for his laugh and his great sense of humor. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Floyd is survived by mother, Loretta Morris; father, Floyd Wright Sr.; Daughter, Tykeria Wright; 2 sons, DeMarcus Garrett and DeMarius Garrett; sisters, Tamiko Morris; sister, Latoya Morris; Brother, Cory (Lakeisha) Morris; sister, Tiffany Morris; sisters, Kaiwana Morris, Corliss (Joseph) Littlepage, Destiny (Le’Dederic) Zellander and others siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by sister Latasha Renee Morris and wife Damonica Webster Wright.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to coworkers Jessie Wolfe III and Jessica Morris and the Selma Police Department for their support and compassionate care.

Floyd will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
