Mr. Evell D. Bowie, Jr., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a short illness. He was a faithful member of Trinity CME Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Evell Bowie, Sr., brother, William Bowie, sister, Billieteen Dickerson, and stepson, Michael Owens. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Howze Bowie, brother, Alvin Bowie, brother-in-law, Rudolph (Henriette) Howze, sons, Evell III and Jeffrey (Karen) Bowie, stepdaughter, Sharon Owens, devoted niece and caregiver, Yolanda Bowie, grandchildren, Translee Macklin III, Kloyd Krogan, Briana, Gabrielle, and Brooke Bowie, and great granddaughters, Jayla and Kennidi Bowie and a host of nieces, grandnieces and grand nephews. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Moody Temple CME Church. Interment will follow immediately in Elmwood Cemetery. Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
