Ethylene (Lyn)
Virginia Thomas
January 19, 1961 – July 16, 2024
Ethylene (Lyn) Virginia Thomas, the first born to Riley Sanders and Mary L Thomas; She grew up in the Bessemer Southside Projects; attended Bessemer Public School; attended several colleges and obtained several college degrees & certifications; employed with the State of
Alabama for 28 years.
At the age of twelve (12), she was baptized under the leadership of Dr. Nelson H. Smith, Jr., New Pilgrim Baptist Church; she surrendered her life to Christ at the age of thirty-five. (35) Lyn loved nothing more than entertaining family and friends at her home with guests; she was known to bring the family together, the center of Lyn's life was first and foremost family, a woman of great faith, Lyn trusted in God's guidance, caring and sensitive.
In spite of her many earthly accomplishments, nothing meant more to her than her children and grandchildren; she taught them to put family first, never take things for granted, say what you mean and mean what you say, and to stand firm in their beliefs.
The sunset for Lyn on Tuesday July 16, 2024, her final crossroad; her life touched so many, and she will be greatly missed; however, this is not goodbye, but just "until we see one another again" to her sisters Mary, Barbara, Gwen; her brothers Eugene, Michael, Maurice; her beloved
children: Brandon, Darrien, Marcus, Jasmine; her precious grandchildren; a multitude of nieces and nephews who were dearly loved by their favorite auntie, numerous cousins, and a multitude of other "kids" whose lives she impacted.
